Painting Challenge: WW2 German Infantry

As part of my self-imposed painting challenge, these figures were an easy win to paint and clear off my unfinished-paint-pile. A handful of Bolt Action’s 28mm WW2 Germany infantry only needed a little Citadel wash thrown over them before I could call them complete.

7x German infantry ‘washed’ and then 2 NPC miniatures painted completely.

I should have done a bit of work on the infantrymen’s webbing (?) and pouches, but the whole point of this challenge is to get these models done and dusted.

So with some Games Workshop Nuln Oil thrown over their uniforms, and a tiny bit of dry-brushing, I’m calling them complete. Unfortunately I can’t remember the painting recipe I used… which could cause issues when I come to do the other 30 or so.

I really like how this Hanomag half-track turned out; it’s a great miniature (also from Bolt Action I believe) and it really wasn’t too bad to paint. This vehicle is so iconic for the German army, and is often seen in wargaming. I believe the mini is one of the many variants of Sd.Kfz. 251.

(The addition of the stowage on the side of the mini really helps bring it together and also break-up the sea of grey)

That brings the painting tally so far to 19x 28mm models. So, slowly making some painting progress.

Stay tuned for more average painting and worse-than-average camera snaps 🙂
